What we do:
Faith. Agency. Community.
Faith: Faith is a living trust in God that shapes how people relate to others and engage with the world. It is to be continually explored, questioned and embodied in compassion, justice and hope in everyday life.
Agency: Agency emphasises the dignity and responsibility of each person to act thoughtfully, freely, and morally within the circumstances of their lives. Authentic agency is not isolated individualism, but the capacity to participate with others in shaping communities marked by justice, compassion and human flourishing.
Community: Community centres on relationships of mutual care, shared responsibility, and respect for the dignity of every person. Community is not merely belonging to a group, but an active commitment to dialogue, solidarity and the common good, especially in service of those who are vulnerable or marginalised.
We:
- Provide opportunities for the expression of our evolving faith, spirituality, theology and voice of Australasian Catholics.
- Promote an intellectually and morally authentic spirituality, grounded in the Catholic Christian tradition, for our times in Australasia.
- Provide a collaborative framework for Australasian Catholic groups seeking community and ecclesial renewal of the Church and Community.
Our Call as disciples is to be a Catholic Church:
- that reflects Jesus’ message of love, justice, equality, peace and forgiveness;
- in which all people are directed by their consciences and assume their responsibility for the mission of the Church;
- which inspires its people to recapture an experience of the mystical and the spiritual;
- where God-given authority is used wisely and justly to propagate the teachings of Christ and respects the role of the People of God;
- where all people, single and partnered, minister in a spirit of co-responsibility for the Church;
- that influences Australasian society to be ever more just, compassionate and egalitarian.
